Europe’s fastest-growing games distributor previously only sold PC games digitally. Today the on-line retailer announces it is expanding into boxed games – offering UK consumers a series of market-shaking deals as it sells the biggest console & PC titles on disc for the first time.
Celebrating Green Man Gaming’s entry into boxed product, the young British upstart will offer gamers a great selection of opening week deals between Friday, 27th July and Thursday, 2nd August, carrying the same competitive spirit into the boxed market.
Gamers will be able to pre-order Darksiders 2 or Sleeping Dogs for £19.99 on PC (boxed) or a blockbusting £29.99 on PS3 and Xbox 360 on Friday 27th and Saturday 28th respectively. The full week of special daily deals will be on greenmangaming.com and will include such huge titles as Call of Duty: Black Ops II, Borderlands II, Hitman Absolution and Guild Wars II.
The introduction in the UK of Xbox 360, PS3, PC boxed product to Green Man Gaming’s expanding catalogue is GMG’s biggest retail shake up since it sold its first tradable download in 2010. In the digital space, GMG now sells over 1100 titles from 100 publishers to consumers in more than 155 countries from its base in London.
Green Man Gaming merged with Playfire – the 1.25m strong community that tracks gaming activity across the major consoles and PC. Green Man Gaming’s charge into boxed product retail will be led by its Director of Trading, Martin Baxter – who joined the company earlier this year from HMV.
