Does exactly what it says on the tin. The latest app from OMGPOP to be swarming the world of mobile devices, whether iPhone or Android.
You draw a picture for your ‘buddy’ to guess. Simple idea, but hey, that’s what we like. You pair up, without needing to be near each other- this is the land of the www. The game gives you a set of 3 words, one easy, one medium & one hard. You the draw whatever the word is and send it to your buddy. The actual drawing of the object is captured so if you rub it out & start again, they see that too.
The cycle starts, they guess & then have to draw something themselves. It could go on for days, in fact one if mine has. If you’re waiting for your buddy and getting impatient you are given the option to budge them.
In my research for this article I’ve found some amazing pictures people have drawn. I wish I could draw that well. I’m not sure if it is affiliated with the game but there is a website www.thebestofdrawsomething.com has a collection.
An approximate 20 million people have downloaded it in the first 5 weeks after release in March 2012. You can either purchase it for 69p on iPhone and 62p on Android or have, like me, downloaded the free (lite) version. It has rapidly become the No.1 game in the world, in the Paid App market and the free charts.
Recently sold for $180m (about £112m) to Zynga- you know them from Facebook gaming favourites as FarmVille. So I would like to think it has a future but I also hope it won’t be ruined.
Draw Something -go on!,

I was coerced into downloading this by a work colleague. It is quite addictive. On a smartphone it’s quite difficult to draw a decent picture but I’ve seen some amazing ones that have been drawn on the ipad. I have the free version which is fine if you don’t mind the adverts. I found it temperamental when linking through facebook though (kept crashing) so I’ve just stuck with my email address and it has been fine.
I so wish I had either an iPhone or an Android – I’d be on this day in, day out. Loved the ready Jo.
