Oasis:
Now then, where to begin with Oasis….This map took me a very long time to pop up on the Elite Multiplayer playlist. I’m not quite sure why, but it never seemed to crop up. Although, once or twice it did put me in matches that had already started, which didn’t give me time to explore. However, Oasis did come up a few times after and I have to say, I love this map. Oasis was available for both Xbox360 (May) and PS3 (June).
Oasis is a large map, so if you like long distance sprints to the other side this map is for you. The action takes place around the far side near the hotel itself and alongside the right hand passage. A great route to take on this map is to run from A Dom (Domination) is to take the right hand side. This leads through the outskirts of the map, avoiding the enemy from the centre. This also brings you out to the back of the enemy, nothing better than a bit of flanking.
This sprawling hotel is open to tons of action, no matter what game mode you decide to play. I find Domination is a fantastic game mode for this map, as each flag is set in a great position. A dom, is set at one side of the map, near a round dome in the middle – Watch out for that camper. B dom, the one everyone wants, is set smack bang in the middle surrounded by lush green grass. Last but no means least, C dom is set at the other end to where A dom is with a few routes leading out towards B dom and a route from the left to go to A dom.
When playing this map I’ve found that many guns are used, from the ACR to even the LMG’s. Now I’m not saying for a second that the LMG’s shouldn’t be used as this maps long distance and every weapon is worthwhile. If it was me playing this map, I’d run the SCAR L and the ACR, just for pure power beneath the weapon.
The colours on this map are truly amazing – From greens to white. All detail on this map is great and it feels like a hotel. Although when running around this map it seems a little unfair to be having such a battle.
If I was to rate Oasis it would be a: 9/10
- The routes are brilliantly planned out
- A verity of weapons has a great impact of game style
- The spawns are equal for each game mode
