So I am what some may consider an older gamer at the grand old age of 32 and I have recently heard the comments in lobbies such as:
‘Ugh how are you over 25 and stil gaming, haven’t you got better things to do’
‘How can you still be gaming when you are over 30, don’t you have a life’
‘How can she still be playing Call of Duty, she is 35 with children’
Yes I do have a life, a job, a partner, friends and family, yet I still choose to game. Many people choose to come home each night from work/school/college/TV/whatever and sit in front of the TV for 6 hours or so, I choose to fire up my PS3 and play, its my stress reliever. I enjoy it and have no idea why my age should bear any relation to the fact the fact that I do.
I have always enjoyed gaming, I was there at the early days of home gaming, with my Amstrad CPC 464 in the mid 90′s, playing on my little green screen and failing because so many tasks were colour related. Then I moved on to Master System, SNES, Mega Drive, PS1, PS2 and now the PS3, so why would would I have to think well that’s me I am old now and therefore must not game any longer as that is just for the young people.
Rather than some younger people thinking it’s weird that older people are gaming, surely they are they oddities. After all they have no idea how gaming came to be how it is, and have just jumped on our bandwagon.
Yes I am am older than some, I do have a life and yes I do love gaming, you can balance the two. If you don’t like it young ones, I suggest you go back to watching Balamory

to anyone over the age of 25 do not listen to thses people,ive met people on ps3 aged 30 (some hope members) to 40 and tbh i find them better then the younger ones,if there was an age limit it would of been on the ps3/xbox itself,its perfectly fine to just set and chill and play a game for afew hours so yeah take no notice to people who say stuff like that
Jenxy, just don’t tell people your age! I’m, ahem, around a similar age and the fella is older again at 42 (and he has a PSN friend in his 60s). Age is but a number, a number that nobody can see behind a console!

im really glad older people play ps3,it mainly gets teenagers who think there gangsters and moanie little kids,do i wanna be stuck with them? NO!..no one should have to listen to people like that as plax said “age is but a number,a number that nobody can see behind a console” ps3 or xbox is just a thing for all ages to sit and enjoy abit of gaming,so jenxy keep doing what your doing and ignore the fools 
I am of the same age. I was on Sony’s reality show the tester. I have a very popular podcast in the playstation network, When I go to conventions I do not look my age but people are shocked to find out someone my age is a gamer. Gamers of this age know where gaming has come from and can predict. What is on the horizon.
I’m 32 and been gaming since my yooof, my boyf is 46 and still games.
We’re appreciate the wonders of gaming coz we was there when it all begun!
I also have a partner, house, full time job, my own business and write for this wicked gaming site so I have a balanced life.

Hey as long as you balance your life and know how to manage it, it doesn’t matter how old you are..
I am 25.. I have a full time internship at a hospital, go out with friends, see my family, have a social life, go to gym and manage to play too ..
As a youngster myself, I don’t understand why idiots do this or that they think its okay to shout discriminating abuse, whether it be because of gender, age or ethnicity.

For me, I think its funny when youngsters shout ‘haven’t you got anything better to do’ to anyone slightly older as surely because they are young they should be out socialising rather than sitting on games? … but thats just my opinion
part of why people take the piss out of older gamers is cos they dont like getting destroyed by them in a game so they turn to the “your too old to play games” or “gaming is for young people” yet games come out for all ages,even family games,you can look all over the games console and you will NOT see an age limit anywhere,you are not old so dont let stupid little kids/teenagers get you down,im 20 and ive had kids telling me im too old to play games,he shut up when i owned him
