This week the Playstation Blog shared with us the top selling Indie Games of 2011. Now what is an Indie Game, whilst the definition is not 100% clear they tend to be games that are just that little bit different, often games which stretch the imagination and allow us to play in a way we had never even considered before, think Flower or Minecraft.
These games are usually created by individuals or just small teams with no publisher support and have little or no budget available. As such the developers have no constraints with creativity as mainstream developers often do. However having no backing often means they are overlooked by the many but vehemently loved by the few.
These are the Indie Games that many of us loved in 2011

I absolutely loved Limbo, such a clever, wonderful game, although very frustrating at times, I did have to google a couple of things on Limbo, just to make sure I was doing it right, not to cheat obviously!
2011 has been a pretty damn good year for Indie games and hopefully given its success 2012 will be even better.

This is why I play games on the PSN as there is so many good ones!
