Missy, Jenxy and I attended GameFest in September, Missy and I posed for a few photo’s at the event and pretended to play DanceStar Party. A game that I hadn’t really heard much about and quite frankly still haven’t! I know a few of us bought the Playstation Move hoping for more titles that incorporated the controller.
Now I’m a sucker for a bargain and bought the title for a little under £8 online without reading a review!
DanceStar party has the usual solo mode, party mode allowing unusually 20 players, co-op, battle modes. Each with varying difficulty levels.
Now here’s the difference, a dance creator mode has been included to allow you to choreograph your own dance moves. A workout mode to help burn off those calories, I haven’t tried the workout mode and found the solo mode enough of a workout in itself!! The dance class mode I found really helpful, its basically a practice mode.
As with other titles more songs can be bought from the Playstation Store, there is a good mixture of music with something for everyone. There are quite a number of recent song with the music video included. The words are at the bottom of the screen so you could have a group of singers and dancers.
While performing the camera will record highlights and take snapshots and the game gives you the option to upload them to the Playstation community, Tweet or upload the media to Facebook! I did have a little nosy at some and there are some hilarious ones! No I didn’t upload anything, HoPE may Tweet something over Christmas *wink*.
This game is a great addition to the Move selection of games, the camera picked up the movements perfectly and the next dance move to perform is displayed giving you time to prepare for the next action. Therefore the learning curve is minimal and appealing to all ages. If you’re interested in the track list you can find it here.
Christmas is on the horizon it would be a great game to bring family and friends together.
